The History of e-lottery
Back in 2002 e-lottery was launched by Virtual World Direct Limited in Britain. e-lottery was based on a syndicate system for playing the UK National Lotto.
One evening, after a hard day chasing sheep in North Wales and tripping over and splatting down into dung heaps, a bunch of guys got together over some beers in the local Ale House to chat and talk business.
With backgrounds in Snake Oil sales, backroom cini film rental etc. they pooled resources to create a marketing plan to help others replicate what they did and advertise a lottery syndicate system by word of mouth recommendation.
This allowed the company to keep advertising costs to a minimum and rather than pay for media Ads, the idea was to compensate Affiliates based on their success in finding new players.
This approach worked very well, allowing rapid growth over the last few years resulting in Millions of pounds in revenue, pay-outs and winning prizes.
With the injection of fresh Marketing input, the look and feel of the website was improved and professional video presentations were introduced to accelerate the influx of new Players and Affiliates.
The viral nature of the marketing method has resulted in Players and Affiliates joining from all over the world. Although due to gambling restrictions, the largest potential market (North America) is unfortunately excluded.
Following the success of e-Lottery, a similar concept was introduced for the Euromillions draw which continues to be a great success.
In an attempt to branch out from the Lottery speciality into general online gaming, the company launched UVME. But this hasn't been the success it was hoped to be possibly due to the less than spectacular games and a clunky web site interface. Also, there is fierce global competition from many competitors who have got a strong lead in the online skill game market.
Another project which unfortunately flopped was e-lotbidder. This was a reverse auction where luxury items could be bought for pennies by the lowest successful bidders.
So the flagship products continue to be the e-Lottery and Euromillions syndicates.
Recent additions to the syndicate product line are Elgordo and Espanol syndicates.
